The cultivation and recognition of outstanding enterprises is a key pillar in advancing the development of sustainable building materials, energy conservation, and emission reduction. The industry as a whole can be encouraged to adopt similar practices by highlighting the accomplishments of these leading enterprises.

Launching the Recognition Program

China Building Materials Federation initiated the initiative to identify and commend outstanding demonstration enterprises that demonstrate energy-savings and emission reduction. The China Building Materials Federation set the stage for the commendation program with a June 18, 2013 notice entitled "Notice on Implementing Cultivation 'One Hundred Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Demonstration Enterprises in the Building Materials Industry".

Selection Criteria and Process

The call for participation was quickly answered by major Chinese enterprise groups and associations of the building materials industry. These organizations organized companies under their jurisdiction to submit applications that reflected their efforts in energy saving and emission reduction. The qualification criteria were strict, and companies had to show significant achievements in the areas. The activity leading group, working group and the evaluation committee identified 15 demonstration enterprises that were qualified after a thorough assessment.

Announcing the Top 15 Enterprises

After the completion of the evaluation, the list of "Top 100 Demonstration Enterprises for Energy Saving and Emission Reduction in the Building Materials Industry" was announced. The following 15 companies stood out as exemplary performers:

A 1.8 ton machine of mine can produce 15,000 bricks per day and a 6.5 ton machine can produce 67,200 bricks in 8 hours. Furthermore, a 15-ton machine can produce 120,960 bricks and blocks in 8 hours.
